What Are TCPA and Palladium and How Will They Affect Future Systems?

The Trusted Computing Platform Alliance, or TCPA, is an initiative led by Intel that provides for a monitoring component--a "smart chip"-- to be mounted in the motherboards of PCs. Palladium, the Microsoft equivalent, builds on TCPA hardware and will be installed on future versions of Windows.
