As reported in the spring issue of Computing News ("Popular CC-EMU
Lab Logs Heavy Use," http://cc.uoregon.edu/cnews/spring2002/emu.html),
UO computing labs are increasingly popular. Printers, especially, are put to
heavy use: in a single month, it is not unusual for as many as 669 reams of
paper to be utilized in one lab alone, and toner cartridges must be frequently
replaced.
Due to the rising cost of printing supplies and printer maintenance, computing labs on campus will be instituting printing charges in the fall. Fees are yet to be determined. Watch for details in the fall issue of Computing News.
