Jdbgmgr.exe Hoax Circulating on Campus

Last April, Symantec warned of a new hoax that tries to persuade Windows users to delete a legitimate file (Jdbgmgr.exe) from their computers by claiming it contains a virus. In mid-May, we began to get reports of this hoax circulating on campus.

If you receive email that contains a teddy bear icon and warns of a virus named Jbdbgmgr.exe, ignore the message.

Background information on this hoax is available at http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/jdbgmgr.exe.file.hoax.html
