Sony Donates Technical Equipment and Services to UO

Thanks to the generosity of Sony Disc Manufacturing in Springfield, next fall's Duckware CD will be manufactured without charge. The Duckware CD is designed and distributed each year by the Computing Center and contains valuable software and networking tools for UO students, faculty, and staff.

Other Sony beneficiaries include the UO Library, the Bach Festival, the School of Music, the Erb Memorial Union, and the Multimedia Design Program. Both the Library and the School of Music will receive technical equipment. The School of Music will also benefit from Sony's manufacturing services to produce a recruiting CD, while the Bach Festival will receive not only a $10,000 sponsorship for the Youth Choral Academy, but free digital authoring and CD-replication services.

Sony is also setting aside $12,000 to fund technical internships for UO students.

Thank you, Sony!
