Scanning Suspicious Files with VirusTotal
Sometimes you may receive a suspicious attachment that appears viral but which
your antivirus package may not be able to conclusively identify, or you may
get hit by a virus that your antivirus program missed altogether, even with
the latest and greatest virus definitions. When that occurs, you may want to
consider submitting a copy of the suspicious file to VirusTotal, which offers
a free service for scanning suspicious files using several antivirus engines.
