Special FDIC consumer fraud alert...Beware of spurious email that appears to be sent by the FDIC claiming that Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge has advised suspension of all deposit insurance on your bank account due to suspected violations of the PATRIOT Act. Such email is part of a “phishing” scheme to obtain sensitive personal information and should be ignored.
