Your UO computing account gives you access to secure webmail at http://email.uoregon.edu. UO webmail is a good choice for new students and others who access their email from multiple locations.
UO webmail is easy to use: you won't need to do any configuration or make modifications to your existing email setup, and it has a clean, understandable interface.
Getting Started. To use the webmail system, open your web browser and go to http://email.uoregon.edu/ You'll be presented with an entry-level page (Fig. 1) that gives you the choice of logging into either Gladstone, Darkwing, or Oregon (the Oregon link takes you to the classic WebMail login page, as shown in Fig. 3).

Figure 1. The Web Email entry page. Going to http://email.uoregon.edu in your browser takes you to this page.

Figure 2. The IMHO web email login page for Darkwing. Selecting the 'Darkwing' link takes you to an identical login page labeled 'Gladstone Web Email'.) After entering your username and password, you'll be presented with a page for establishing your email preferences.

Security Features. IMHO supports SSL session encryption and uses standard Internet protocols throughout. As it is SSL-enabled and doesn't require Java, cookies, or Javascript, it makes your email more secure.
Another Plus: Gladstone and Darkwing users can use IMHO's Web Email interface in addition to their other favorite mail clients (e.g., Eudora, Outlook) without worrying about messages being moved around as they're read. For example, if you read and save Monday's mail with IMHO, you'll be able to find all the messages you've saved if you decide to open your mail with Eudora on Tuesday.
