Cisco 675 DSL Router Users Should Upgrade to a Current Version of CBOS

It became apparent during the recent Code Red worm attack that some UO faculty, students and staff who connect via DSL with Cisco 675/678 DSL routers were experiencing a denial of service attack as a side effect of the worm's probes.

Technical details concerning this vulnerability are available online at If you use a Cisco 675/678 DSL router, you should strongly consider upgrading the firmware that runs on your DSL routers to the most recent version of the Cisco Broadband Operating System (CBOS).
