Very soon, you'll be able to use your PDA to access UO resources via the Internet.
Spurred by the growing popularity of these mobile handheld devices, the Computing Center is beginning to support network access from Palm and WindowsCE-based PDAs ("Portable Digital Assistants"). Long known for its diverse "organizer" capabilities, the Palm Computing platform developed by 3com and implemented in Palmtop computers from 3com, IBM, Handspring and others is now spawning an increasing number of communications products--including modems, packet radio, and cellular communications. This trend makes Palmtops more useful for messaging, web browsing, and stand-alone computing tasks.
For a description of the tools you'll need to connect to the Internet using a Palm device (with emphasis on accessing resources at the UO), see http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~joelja/project/palm
