FITT Center Offers Web-Based Course Management System

By JQ Johnson (jqj@darkwing.uoregon.edu)

Want to create a course web site that includes handouts, online tests, class discussions, a gradebook, and online homework submission--without having to learn HTML, CGI, Java, or other complex tools?

Blackboard CourseInfo, a new experimental service from the UO Library, may be just right for you. It's a web based "course management system" that allows faculty to add an online component to a course--or even host an entire course on the web--quickly and easily.

Visit the FITT Center in Media Services Room 18 on the ground floor of the Knight Library. FITT staff can demonstrate CourseInfo and help you create your own CourseSite. For a schedule of FITT Center hours, call 346-1942 or see http://libweb.uoregon.edu/fittc/

To arrange a training session for faculty/GTFs in your department, contact JQ Johnson (346-1746, jqj@darkwing.uoregon.edu).
