Reminder: January 2000 Marks End of ccMail

As of July 1, 1999, the ccMail routers were permanently shut down. While mail is no longer delivered to individual post offices, the main post office running on Zeus and the ccMail gateway will continue to run until these die a slow death on January 1, 2000. This means that through December 31, 1999, the ccMail system will not be operational, but it will continue to forward mail for those users who have had an alias created on the hub post office.

After December 31, 1999, mail sent to users@ccmail.uoregon.edu will bounce. All former ccMail users should be actively distributing their non-ccMail address to friends, colleagues, and family so they can still be reached as of January 1, 2000.

Questions? If you have questions regarding the final days of ccMail, contact network engineer Don Gathers (dgathers@ns.uoregon.edu, 346-4316).
