Plan Ahead for ALPHA Software Migration!

As of February 1, 2000, the following applications will no longer be available on alpha because they are being moved to DARKWING:
| spss | minitab | maple | mathematica | lindo |
| sas | matlab | slam | Splus | rats |
Those using applications with binary data files such as minitab, sas, and spss will need to export their data sets on ALPHA to a portable format so the files can be used on DARKWING. (If youÕre unsure if you need to export your data sets, send email to consult@darkwing.uoregon.edu.)
A grace period of several months will precede the migration. During this period, applications will be available on both systems to allow users to migrate their binary files and verify that the transfer was successful.
