According to YAHOO Internet Life magazine, the University of Oregon remains one of the top ten "most wired" colleges in the nation, ranking ninth in America and third among public universities. Among other factors, schools in YAHOO's survey were evaluated on their campuswide networks, email accounts, Internet and web access, classes with online material and assignments, and computer labs.
Others in the top ten included Dartmouth, New Jersey Institute of Technology, MIT, RPI, Illinois-Urbana, Carnegie Mellon, Cal Tech, Indiana University-Bloomington, and Worcester Polytechnic.
